Not for the feint of heart, the Rice Institute began in 2002 as a unique approach to devloping collegiate-level scholarship and research in high school students, providing them with one-on-one student/teacher interaction, and workshops with notable artists and thinkers. Past lecturers include: Andrew Bujalski, Joe Cistone, Michael Connolly, Ann Crumb, Michael Dukakis, Jon Sawyer, Paul Elie, Larry Harbison, Chuck Hughes, Melinda Lopez, Malachy McCourt, Brian Mori, Ronan Noone, and Michael Rush.
